Posted on 23 December, 2025

QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) welcomed a delegation from the New Zealand Embassy on 13 November 2025 at the PRC National Capital Region (NCR) Office in Eton Centris, Quezon City. The meeting served to advance bilateral discussions on areas of mutual interest and professional cooperation.

The PRC delegation was led by Honorable Charito A. Zamora, PRC Chairperson, accompanied by senior officials from the International Affairs Office (IAO) and the International Commitments Negotiation Division (ICND). The New Zealand delegation was headed by Her Excellency Dr. Catherine McIntosh, Ambassador to the Philippines, and other senior embassy officials.

A key topic of discussion was the Philippines–New Zealand Status of Visiting Forces Agreement (SOVFA), which provides a formal legal framework for defense personnel exchanges. Both parties explored how this agreement can facilitate enhanced disaster response cooperation, particularly in ensuring that foreign professionals assisting during emergencies meet established professional standards and operate under proper coordination.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment from both the PRC and New Zealand to sustain this productive dialogue. The goal is to promote professional exchange and develop initiatives that strengthen institutional ties and deliver mutual, long-term benefits for both nations
