The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRC and PRBOA Confer First Batch of Filipino ASEAN CPAs

The Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy (PRBOA) of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), in cooperation with the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) named the pioneering batch of Association of Southeast Asian Nations’ Chartered Professional Accountants (ASEAN CPAs) last July 31, 2021.

Opening a wider array of global opportunities while keeping abreast of emerging trends in changes in the practice of the accountancy profession, eligible professional Filipino accountants formally took their oath before the Commission, witnessed by PRBOA Chairman Honorable Noe G. Quiñanola, Vice Chairperson Honorable Thelma S. Ciudadano, Honorable PRC Commissioners Jose Y. Cueto Jr. and Yolanda D. Reyes, and administered by the Honorable PRC Chairman Teofilo S. Pilando, Jr..

To date, there are five thousand five hundred six (5,506) registered ASEAN CPAs within the ASEAN region, wherein the Philippines has a total of ninety-six (96), which makes it sixth (6th) with the most number of registered ASEAN CPAs.

Indeed, this significant feat proves the Filipino Accounting professionals’ competitiveness and excellence that can even go beyond international standards of the professional counterparts overseas.
