The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRC Gears Toward A 5-Year Strategic Plan

Manila, Philippines - The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) conducted the 2022 Strategic Development Exercise on Key Result Areas (KRAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with the theme, “Learn from the Past and the Present, Strategize for the Future” last December 21-22, 2022, at the New Coast Hotel Manila, subsequent to the Strategic Planning Activity of the PRC last October 6 & 7, 2022.

The activity was attended by the Professional Regulatory Boards (PRBs), PRC Officials and representatives from the Regional Offices who were grouped into five (5) for the reporting and presentation of outputs. The activity is intended for the coming up with a 5-year Strategic Plan (2023-2027) for the Commission.

In the message of Commissioner Erwin M. Enad, he stressed the importance of the preparation of action plans and programs, as well as the monitoring and evaluation in order to measure how these programs were being implemented.  He further emphasized the objective of the activity to leverage and further evaluate the plans and programs of the Commission to recalibrate what can be done to strategize its improvement.

In addition, Commissioner Jose Y. Cueto, Jr., in his message and presentation of the Vision-Mission, reiterated that the activity endeavored in encapsulating the expanded role of the Commission by taking into consideration its overall mandate as an agency not as regards the administration of the professional licensure examinations and regulatory functions, but likewise, by emphasizing its developmental role in shaping the qualification and standards, knowledge, and skills of the professional workforce, as well as the vital role of the PRBs in regulating the practice of professions and institutions, administering the conduct of licensure examinations, and promulgate resolutions and/or policies affecting the practice of professions in accordance with their respective professional regulatory laws (PRLs).

The two-day activity was facilitated by Dr. Nemuel S. Fajutagana, former Dean of the University of the Philippines National Teacher Training Center for the Health Professions, which comprised of workshop activities and presentation of outputs on the KRAs

Once finalized, the Commission’s Strategic Plan will serve as the supreme guide for the organization as it performs its mandate in the foreseeable future.
