PRC Holds Orientation on Commission Resolution No. 1841 (s. 2024) and Consultation on Proposed Amendments to EO No. 496 (s. 1991)

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – On December 15, 2025 at Bulwagang Nubla, Professional Regulation Commission (PRC / Commission) – Central Office, Morayta, Manila, the PRC spearheaded an orientation on the Commission’s Resolution No. 1841 (s. 2024) – Implementing the Specific Guidelines on the Screening and Selection Process of Nominees for Professional Regulatory Board Chairpersons and Members Appointment, alongside a consultation on the proposed amendments to Executive Order No. 496 (s. 1991) – Instituting Procedures and Criteria for the Selection and the Recommendation of Nominees for Appointment to Vacant Positions in the Professional Regulatory Boards under the Supervision of the Professional Regulation Commission, to strengthen regulatory policies and improve professional governance. As led by Commissioner and Oversight for Professional Regulatory Board (PRB) – Screening, Hon. Conrado T. Onglao, together with the Commission Secretariat and Oversight Officer for PRB Screening, Atty. Janice P. Castellano, and Head of PRB Screening Unit (PRBSU), Ms. Rosewyndaluz G. Gascon, the activity has been attended by numerous dedicated and active Accredited Integrated Professional Organization (AIPO) and Accredited Professional Organization (APO).

The activity was not a mere obligatory assembly, but to orient and re-acquaint the stakeholders of Resolution No. 1841 (s. 2024) and gather insights and ideas on recommended policy updates and revisions to refine governance frameworks, looking into possible harmonization of existing rules, regulations, and policies, and enhancing mechanisms for effective public service.

With its steadfast commitment to transparency, comprehensive, universal, and unceasing policy improvement, PRC continues to underscore the importance and relevance of its stakeholders’ engagement and position in revisiting and reconstructing policies towards responsive and effective regulations, particularly on the screening of nominees for membership with the various Professional Regulatory Boards.
