MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC / Commission) hosted a courtesy meeting with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Delegation on 29 August 2025 at the PRC Central Office, Morayta, Sampaloc, Manila.

Among the key participants were Honorable Chairperson Charito A. Zamora; Hon. Gloria T. Baysa, Member of the Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy (PRB – ACC); Atty. Melisa Jane Comafay Yeachana, Director of the International Affairs Office (IAO); and other key officials and personnel of the Commission.

The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the ACCA and Philippine Regulatory Institutions, highlighting the ACCA’s ongoing efforts to expand its network in the region. The delegation emphasized its aim to engage with regulators and organizations to build stronger industry connections and better support its members through the ACCA collaboration.

The dialogue also explored shared areas of technical focus, including ethics, professional competence, learning pathways, and sustainability. ACCA cited successful teamwork with regional regulatory bodies, where its open-access learning resources and internationally recognized sustainability certifications have been incorporated into national education and capacity-building initiatives. The PRC was also commended for its commitment to high standards in professional development, reflecting a strong alignment with global best practices.

ACCA expressed its commitment to forging trusted and sustainable partnerships and future collaboration for opportunities with key Philippine Regulatory Bodies, especially the PRB-ACC. The organization reiterated its willingness to work together on areas aligned with government priorities, such as employment generation, education enhancement, and capacity-building for the next generation of professionals. Potential initiatives include working closely with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and other academic stakeholders to influence accounting curriculum and policy reform, as well as co-developing workshops, participating in annual professional conventions, and maintaining ongoing engagement with Philippine regulators. Such initiatives aim to strengthen the local accountancy ecosystem, promote global best practices, and enhance the overall attractiveness of the profession to future generations.

With the intent to further explore a strong partnership that focuses on mutual growth and improving pathways for accounting professionals in the Philippines and across the ASEAN region, surely, the Filipino Certified Public Accountants are assured of a well-supported career development.
