The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRC Joins Call for “Healthy, Inclusive and Sustainable Communities”

As the entire planet hones progress towards better management of physical risks brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, the experts, however, foresaw its long-term impact weighing on the collective psyche.

To effectively channel the continuous efforts, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) joins the call for Healthy, Inclusive, and Sustainable Communities through the cordial webinar invitation of the Eastern Regional Organization for Planning and Human Settlements (EAROPH) Philippines and International held last March 26, 2021.

With the theme “To support families through the pandemic and into the future”, the webinar covered discussions on how the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted families as a unit and to its individual members, as well as the doable and practical strategies that both families and communities can utilize in order to ensure a sustainable future. Additionally, preparations of today’s generation for the long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and for the possibility of the next global crisis were thoroughly explicated by the credible international and local resource speakers.

Through the earnest commitment and leadership by EAROPH President and PRC’s very own Commissioner, Honorable Yolanda D. Reyes, together with the active participation and support of the Professional Regulatory Boards, Regional Directors/OICs and the International Affairs Office of PRC, the first EAROPH webinar series for 2021 was indeed a success, with over three hundred fifty (350) participating audience that includes professionals and aspiring Architects, Environmental Planners, Engineers, and Students from all over the Philippines and the world.
