The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRC Chairman's Message for the PRC's 47th Founding Anniversary

As we celebrate our 47th Founding Anniversary and Professional Regulation Week, let me convey warm greetings and congratulations to all my co-workers in the Commission whose hard work and commitment brought us to where we are now.

This year's anniversary celebration, with the theme, "Sustaining the Culture of Excellence and Leadership in the ASEAN Region," will definitely be a memorable occasion albeit lacking of the annual commemorative events we conduct in the past. The emergence of a global pandemic opened doors for re-evaluation and reconstruction of certain tasks and services delivered by the Commission, adapting to the "new normal" with primary consideration for the public's convenience while ensuring both their and our personnel's safety and well-being.

In its 47 years of service, the Commission continues to strive for quality and efficient service to professionals, both domestic and overseas, through continuous development of economic, cultural or educational agreements, among others, that will not only expand opportunities for them but will also allow them to exhibit their qualifications and competence everywhere, including the ASEAN Region.

I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to everyone for all the efforts each one of you has placed in realizing the accomplishments we have achieved and obstacles we have passed.

May this occasion be instrumental in reigniting everyone's passion and dedication in the conduct of his/her respective responsibilities.

TEOFILO S. PILANDO, JR.
Chairman
