The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

“If Anyone Can, You Can Too!” - Interior Designer Topnotcher Claims

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Raised and rooted in Barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City, Ryan Japhet Albiso Gablines, a graduate of the University of San Carlos- Cebu, earned the highest rank on the July 2023 Interior Designers Licensure Examination.

For Gablines, an Interior Designer does not only make interior spaces beautiful, but also uplifts people’s lifestyles, personalities, and goals through providing creative solutions and transforming spaces of well-being. Gablines drew his inspiration to become an interior designer when he experienced the impacts of the pandemic and other socioeconomic problems. He heeded that transforming spaces with arts and science was meaningful allowing him to channel his creativity and character in interior spaces.

Gablines skills in manual drafting and painting together with his passion for design and creativity became his strengths in achieving his profession as an Interior Designer. Those sets of skills were developed through trainings and study habits during his college days at the University of San Carlos-Cebu. Driven by Progress, Mindset, and Grit, he also believed in the saying that any skill can be learned with practice and experience.  Gablines also expresses that one should be passionate about learning, growing through experiences, and striving for consistency, the things he considered helpful as he reached success in his licensure examination.

Furthermore, Gablines entrusted everything to God; hoping that all his efforts were enough and being surrounded by people, family, and support systems that continue to encourage and console him in times of doubt. For future exam takers, he advised: “Do encourage yourselves to find your own study habits that work for you. All of us have different preferences in studying and understanding the material so there is no “one size fits all”. What’s important is you commit to your study schedule, focus on understanding the material, and consistently practice.” “Know your weakest and strongest points, and maximize your time on improving your weak spots”, he added. Gablines also reminds everyone to take breaks as many as they need because it’s always best to have a fresh and motivated mind when taking a lot of readings.

Finally, Gablines emphasized that during review and exam days, an exam taker should stay extra healthy and safe. “Remember that the exam's goal is to show how ready you are as a design professional; so, you have to put your best foot forward in everything and don’t just settle for a “pass” but always believe in yourself that you are capable of achieving the top spot (anyone can, and you will too!)”, said Gablines.
