The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

2024 Philippine Nurses Special Licensure Examination Topnotchers Receive Recognition

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Pursuant to Executive Order No. 835 (s. 2009), the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC / Commission) conducted the yearly Special Professional Licensure Examinations (SPLE) to twenty-eight (28) professions and one (1) Face-to-Face Oral Examination for Professional Mechanical Engineers last June 16 – 18, 2024 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and other Middle East countries, including Singapore.  As part of the successful administration of SPLE, Riyadh produced five (5) board Topnotchers from the June 2024 Philippine Nurses Special Professional Licensure Examination. With such, the top nightingales were given virtual recognition ceremony last July 19, 2024.    Thus, the Filipino Nurses Society in Saudi Arabia (FILNASA), the International Chapter of Philippine Nurses Association (PNA), together with the PRC and Professional Regulatory Board (PRB) of Nursing, the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) – Riyadh warmly congratulated the board Topnotchers; namely: 1) TOP 4 = Michael Angelo Villanueva Mendoza (85.40), 2) Top 7 = Aileen Domingo Rodriguez (84.60) tied with 3) Mashora Maguindra Salwang (84.60), 4) Top 8 = Joan Efa Abiera (84.40), and 5) Top 9 = Lianne Fontecha Cueva (84.20). 

Together with the family of the Topnotchers and one hundred eighty-three (183) successful examinees, attendees present during the virtual recognition were: PRC Chairperson, Hon. Charito A. Zamora; PRC Assistant Commissioner, Hon. L. Louis P. Valera; the PRB of Nursing Chairperson, Hon. Elsie A. Tee; the PRB of Nursing Members: Hon. Carmelita C. Divinagracia, Hon. Leah Primitiva S. Paquiz, Hon. Zenaida C. Cagno, Hon. Elizabeth C. Lagrito, Hon. Marylou B. Ong, Hon. Merlie L. Salvani; the PRC Licensure Office Director, Atty. Arnel G. Ramon; the PRC International Affairs Office Director, Atty. Melisa Jane Comafay Yeachana; the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Director and Head Exam Team Coordinator - Riyadh, Director Juanita L. Domogen; the Philippine Nurses Association, Inc. National President, Hon. Elmer D. Bondoc; the Assistant Labor Attache for Migrant Workers Office - Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Hon. Lucille Gayaman; the Current and Founding President of FILNASA-PNA Riyadh, Dr. Alina N. Articulo; the Executive Board Member of FILNASA-PNA Riyadh, Dr. Eric Hans Sorio; the FILNASA-PNA Riyadh Executive Secretary, Maria Luisa M. Medina; and the Executive Board Member, FILNASA-PNA Riyadh, Rodemel Mar C. Maceda.   

With this achievement and recognition, it is hoped that the image of nursing profession here and abroad shall further be uplifted and shall foster unity and camaraderie for the welfare of Filipino migrant nurses in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and around the globe. Being our modern-day heroes and for their dedication and incomparable professionalism, every Filipino Nurses abroad shall be of continued pride and inspiration. 

The success and achievement of the Topnotchers are the by-product of their perseverance and determination. Just as they venture to their professional paths and improve themselves, may they consider Florence Nightingale’s challenging line: “Let us never consider ourselves finished nurses. We must be learning all our lives.”
