MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC / Commission) welcomes the newly elected chairman of the Professional Regulatory Board of Medicine (PRB - MED), Hon. Dr. Efren C. Laxamana. Administered by the PRC Chairperson, Hon. Charito A. Zamora, and witnessed by the Honorable Commissioner, Hon. Erwin M. Enad, with the Assistant Commissioner, Hon. Lord Louis P. Valera, Hon. Dr. Laxamana took his oath last November 05, 2024, at PRC - Manila.
Hon. Dr. Laxamana served as PRB – MED member from December 2021 to 2024. In addition to his laurels, he diligently functioned as a Trustee and Member of the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology from January 2021 to December 2021. Noteworthy also to mention that he served for more than a decade as an Ethics Committee Member at the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology from 2007 to 2018.
As Hon. Dr. Laxamana commences his leadership; he hopes to be guided by Hippocrates’ principle: “As to diseases, make a habit of two things – to help, or at least, to do no harm.”
