The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRC’s Equilibrium of the Past, the Present, and the Future

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – In its pursuit of higher quality standards and excellent public service, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC / Commission), together with the Professional Regulatory Boards (PRBs) from Engineering, Technology, Health and Allied Professions and Business, Education, and Social Clusters, PRC Regional Directors, officers, and concerned employees assemble for the 2024 Mid-Year Performance Assessment (MYPA) and Re-Planning Conference (RPC) with the theme: “Weight of the Past, Push of the Present, and Pull of the Future” at Sheraton Manila Hotel on July 15 and 16, 2024. ;

Commissioner Jose Y. Cueto, Jr. opened the event by presenting the theme, topics, and guidelines for the two-day event while Commissioner Erwin M. Enad, in his message, reminded the participants to have a Google Earth and zoom out approach on the issues and concerns to be presented thus, giving everyone a hint to look at each presentation with a bigger and broader perspective focusing on the improvement and development of the Commission’s services. .

The two-day activity showcases not only the semestral achievements and accomplishments of the Commission through the initiatives and innovations of its offices but also the ways forward set in overcoming the challenges the Commission for the next semester.

  As Chairperson Zamora sets the direction of the Commission, she encourages the participants to nurture a culture of innovation and collaboration, where every member of the Commission is empowered to perform their duties well as mga lingkod-bayan while being part of the PRC family. Adjunct with the theme, she reminds every one of the necessities of honoring our history, gauging our present status, and projecting an unwavering and professional course forward.

With the Commission valuing the “Weight of the Past,” its people will be prompted by their deepened and strengthened foundations, picking up the lessons of the hurdles and the stumbling blocks of the past, and shall gain perceptive wisdom and discerning prudence. Further, as the Commission embraces the “Push of the Present,” every opportunity shall be utilized towards the dynamically and globally changing needs of our stakeholders and landscapes of regulation. For the “Pull to the Future,” PRC shall remain in its pursuit of anticipating trends and challenges, and shall lead initiatives in shaping the future of professional regulation towards the “Bagong Pilipinas.”
