The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRC Delegates Conclude SPLE at Doha, Qatar Productive

DOHA, QATAR – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) administered the Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) for eighteen (18) professions and catered six hundred and thirty-five (635) examinees at Doha, Qatar.  The PRC delegates had confidently concluded the three-day SPLE last April 22-24, 2023 as generally peaceful, seamlessly smooth, and orderly.

The successful conduct of the SPLE was also made possible through the provision of administrative and logistical support to the PRC by the Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar through H. E. Lilibeth V. Pono.  Likewise, the assistance of MWO through the unwavering support of Assistant Labor Attaché Don Albert Philippe Pangcog of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office – Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (POLO - OWWA) was also felt and appreciated by the PRC delegates.

Spearheaded by Atty. Janice P. Castellano, the Commission Secretary, the SPLE was warmly held at the Philippine International School of Qatar (PISQ) with the heartfelt assistance of its principal, Mr. Jayson -----.

The conduct of SPLE is pursuant to Executive Order No. 835, Directing the Professional Regulation Commission and Other Concerned Government Agencies Through the Department  of Labor and Employment to Conduct a Yearly Special Professional Licensure Board Examinations (SPLBE) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Other Middle East Countries for the Benefit of Qualified Filipino Workers and as part of its mandate to cater services closer to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and community, which will save time, resources, transportation, and other incidental costs of the supposed clienteles.

It is hoped that this will produce further another assembly of professionals who will continue to uphold and value their professions towards professionalism, integrity, responsibility, unity, accountability, competence, and excellence for the nation’s progress and development.
