The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRC discusses with ARTA CPD accreditation process improvement

MANILA, PHILIPPINES -  Adjunct with His Excellency, President Ferdinand R. Marcos. Jr’s transparent and strict directives regarding streamlining and fast-tracking all government transactions to improve bureaucratic efficiency and as one of the administration’s top priorities in its 8-point Socioeconomic Agenda, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Anti-Red Red Authority (ARTA) met last July 29, 2024 at the Secretariat Building of Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City.

Intending to review the current and existing policies, guidelines, and quality assurance as well as the actions taken by the CPD Council on the accreditation of various continuing professional development (CPD)-related applications, in accordance with Republic Act No. 11032 better known as the “Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018”, the PRC and ARTA discussed issues and concerns relative to the CPD-related applications and accreditation of providers and programs.

The following PRC’s luminaries were present: Hon. Commissioner Jose Y. Cueto, Jr. - the Oversight Commissioner for CPD; Hon. Commissioner Erwin M. Enad - the Chairman of Legislative Liaison and Research Committee; Assistant Commissioner Mr. Lord Louis P. Valera  - the Chairperson of PRC Committee on Anti-Red Tape; Professional Regulatory Board (PRB) for Librarians member Hon. Lourdes T. David - the Program Manager for CPD – Program Management Committee; PRB of Psychology member Hon. Imelda Virginia G. Villar - the Vice Program Manager; PRB for Professional Teachers Chairperson Hon. Rosita L. Navarro; PRB of Electrical Engineering member Hon. Jaime V. Mendoza; PRB of Physical Therapy member Hon. Bernadette M. Reyes; PRB of Chemistry member Hon. Ma. Theresa C. Cayton; Regulation Office Director Atty. Maria Liza M. Hernandez; and CPD Division Chief Dr. Clarissa DC. Guia. Completing the Inter-Agency consultative meeting, ARTA’s dignitaries were: Undersecretary Genesis R. Abot - Officer-in-Charge of Deputy Director General for Legal; Usec. Gerald G. Divinigracia - Deputy Director General for Operations; Director Leonardo O. Tapia - Director of Legal and Public Assistance Office; Ms. Evangeline M. Mabiog - Executive Assistant IV, Office of the Deputy Director General for Operations; Mr. Omer Caliph M. Tiblani - Division Chief of Better Regulations Office – Sectoral A; Atty. Alexandra L. Martirez - Attorney IV of Legal and Public Assistance Office (LPAO); and Ms. Giselle Ann T. Melgar - Project Development Officer II.

With this, PRC and ARTA strive further to serve professionals and the whole nation in curbing red tape, increasing global competitiveness, and eliminating arduous regulations to foster socio-economic development in the nation through interconnecting, streamlining, and digitalizing all government services.
