The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

The first team will take off to primarily process applications for the March 29 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) in Roxas City, Capiz on January 6-7 and proceed to Kalibo, Aklan on January 8-9. The venue in Roxas City is still being finalized. The venue in Kalibo will be at the campus of Aklan State University with permission from President Danilo Abayon.

The second team will proceed to Bacolod City on January 12-15 and will be based at the Masskara Hall, 3rd floor of the “Peoples House”, a space provided by the Hon. Monico Puentevella, City Mayor of Bacolod City. All clients from the 13 cities and various municipalities of Negros Occidental, as well as the surrounding and nearby ones of Negros Oriental and Cebu will be attended to and served.

San Jose, Antique shall be the third destination on January 19-21 and arrangements are on-going to have it at the Municipal Hall courtesy of Hon. Mayor Rony Molina.

Authority for all these travels has been granted early by the new PRC Chairman, Hon. Florentino C. Doble, M.D., so clients could prepare the needed documentary requirements and funds, and be served closer to their workplaces or home base. (larb/prc-iloilo)
