The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

Sen. Bong Go Expresses Support to PRC’s Appeal for Covid-19 Vaccine

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, Chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, on a press release last April 26, 2021 published by the Daily Tribune expressed support to Professional Regulation Commission’s (PRC) appeal for the vaccination of the agency’s frontliners, personnel, members of Professional Regulatory Boards, volunteer proctors and watchers to be provided protection from the infections brought by Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19), while performing its mandate to conduct reliable and credible licensure examinations.

The PRC Covid-19 Task Force with their letter to Sen. Go and discussion with Vaccine Czar Secretary Carlito G. Galvez, Jr. and Department of Health, Secretary Francisco T. Duque III explained the important role of PRC in ensuring the steady supply of competent and quality healthcare professionals in the country especially this time of pandemic.

Undeniably, the country’s current problem on the shortage of healthcare professionals can be addressed if PRC will continue to conduct licensure examinations while taking into utmost consideration the health and safety of its people. As Sen. Go on the article stated “Kung mapoproteksyunan ng bakuna ang PRC examiners, proctors at iba pang personnel, maisasagawa natin agad ang board exams sa ligtas na paraan at mas madadagdagan natin ang mga healthcare professionals sa lalong madaling panahon,”

With all the efforts of PRC headed by Honorable Chairman Teofilo S. Pilando, Jr. and Honorable Commissioners, Jose Y. Cueto Jr. and Yolanda D. Reyes, the public is assured that PRC will continue to perform its mandate while finding effective measures to protect its people and the clients.
