The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

Message for the 47th Anniversary of the Professional Regulation Commission

Warmest greetings to my colleagues and fellow workers in the Professional Regulation Commission and to the millions of Filipino professionals all around the world as we celebrate the 47th PRC Founding Anniversary and observe the Professional Regulation Week in the midst of these challenging times.

The PRC has proven time and again that it is a formidable partner of the Filipino people and the Philippine government, which it has manifested more remarkably now as we join the fight to curb the further spread of COVID-19. The PRC, through the Philippine Association of Professional Regulatory Boards (PAPRB), mobilized a project under its PRC Social Responsibility Program to advance social awareness amongst professionals, raised resources for the procurement of necessary supplies, medicines, and equipments, including food packs which were distributed to the various hospitals and checkpoints, and rendered free online mental health and professional counseling upon the initiative of the Boards of Psychology and Guidance and Counseling. PRC also offered its vehicles and drivers all across the country as a supplemental transportation service for DOH healthcare frontline professionals during the enhanced community quarantine period.

While we opted for a simple online commemoration of our 47th anniversary, we continue to recognize this year’s Outstanding Professionals, Outstanding Accredited Professional Organization, and the Nubla Excellence Awardee, who have earned such distinctions by showing exemplary adherence to the highest standards of integrity and excellence in their professional practice, selflessly giving back to the professions and to the society without much regard to their own personal safety, exemplifying the very best of our human resources and inspiring all other professionals to aspire for the same level of excellence and achievements. The awarding ceremonies will be held once clearance for mass gathering is allowed.

I convey my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to the PRC Family, the various Professional Regulatory Boards, the Accredited Professional Organizations, professionals here and abroad, and our Central and Regional officials and employees for their commitment and astounding support as we continue to be on the frontlines and be the significant partner of the Filipino people in our country’s fight against the unseen enemy which has brought the lives of all humankind to a halt.

We shall carry on taking this challenge to effect healing and implement real change in our society for us to soar towards the more inclusive, empowered future we rightfully deserve.

More power to PRC and to all Filipino professionals!

YOLANDA D. REYES
Commissioner
