The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRC Conducts the 2019 Year-End Performance Assessment and 2020 Commission Planning Conference

Manila, Philippines – With the theme “Building a Culture of Integrity and Accountability as Regulatory Agency”, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) conducted its 2019 Year-end Performance Assessment (YEPA) and 2020 Commission Planning Conference last 23-24 January 2020 at the Diamond Hotel, Manila.

The activity aimed to review and assess the Commission’s accomplishment for 2019 relevant to the identified programs, projects and activities involving the Professional Regulatory Boards (PRBs) and various offices of the Commission. It is also intended primarily to determine the long term plans not only for the identified priority problems and issues of concerned offices, but for the implementation of the Commission’s program, projects and activities for the year 2020.

As Chairman Teofilo S. Pilando Jr. shared the Commission’s direction setting for 2020, he cited that PRC can accomplish much more if everyone will continue to work together in a concerted and collaborative fashion, bound by a common purpose, sustained by the principles of professionalism, accountability, and excellence.

The event was attended by the PRC officials and employees from the central and regional offices including the Chairpersons and Members of the various PRBs.

With the success of the event, the PRC as a regulatory agency, will continue to aim better in building a culture of integrity and accountability.
