The iGovPhil Project officially adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

All iGovPhil Project services and content are currently moving towards WCAG Level A compliance. Work is being done to make the system fully compliant with this level.

PRC resumes conduct of January Sanitary Engineer Exam

Manila, May 12, 2014 -- The Professional Regulation Commission announces the resumption of the conduct of the January Board Licensure Examination for Sanitary Engineers (BLESE) effective 2015 and the subsequent schedules.

The Board of Sanitary Engineering resolved to set aside Board Resolution No. 2 series of 2009 and to administer the BLESE twice a year on the months of January and August.

Republic Act No. 1364, the Professional Regulatory Law for the practice of Sanitary Engineering, provides that licensure examination for Sanitary Engineers will be administered twice a year, every last Monday of January and August of every year in the city of Manila.

On May 13, 2009, the Board of Sanitary Engineering provisionally suspended the conduct of the January schedule of the BLESE due to the decrease in the number of BLESE examinees at that time.

Meanwhile, Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) offering courses in Sanitary Engineering have strongly recommended for the resumption of the conduct of the January BLESE to accommodate the increasing number of examinees, as shown in recent years.
