Iloilo City, Philippines -   The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), through its Chairperson, Hon. Charito A. Zamora, actively joins the 74th Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (PSABE) Annual National Convention on 21 April 2025 at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, Iloilo City. With a theme, “Bridging Sustainability and Innovations: Driving Collective Actions for Climate Resiliency and Water, Energy, and Food Security,” the critical contributions of Filipino Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers to sustainable development, climate adaptation, and national food and water security are highlighted and recognized.

Chairperson Zamora marked the commencement of the convention with an inspirational message, emphasizing the indispensable role of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers in advancing sustainability, innovation, and national development.

Joining Chairperson Zamora were the Chairperson and Members of the Professional Regulatory Board of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, Dir. Angiereen D. Medina of the PRC Administrative Service, Dir. Raquel R. Abrantes, PRC Regional Office XI’s Regional Director and Regional Coordinator, various PSABE National and Local Chapters Officers, and delegates from Academic Institutions, Government Agencies, and the Private Sector.

The convention’s theme aligns with the PRC “Carbon Neutral Professional Program (CNPP)”, an initiative that aims to help professionals offset their carbon emissions. The PRC-CNPP activities, which include tree planting and other initiatives to increase carbon sequestration, are usually undertaken during the annual Professional Regulation Week Celebration held every June.

The PRC, together with key stakeholders and professionals, shall endeavor to consistently encourage and promote climate change mitigation measures as a collective effort and an intergenerational responsibility of preserving the environment for future generations.
